The Minnesota Lake Volunteer Fire Department is 27 members strong. The MLFD has been serving the area for over 100 years. A new 1996 Central States Mid-Ship, 1500 gpm pumper (see photo) was purchased during the Centennial year. The department also has the following:2006 1500 gpm pumper, (2) 1987 International tankers with the capacity of 3,000 gal. each, 1976 Chevy Rescue Van with Jaws of Life equipment, 1979 Chevy Rescue van with fire fighting equipment. Minnesota Lake is constantly looking for and recruiting new members to add to their squad, to retain local participation and involvement.
